The Unique World of Creators and Friends of the Formans' Theatre

March 7 – August 31, 2025, Exhibition Halls, Pardubice Castle
A playful, artistic, enchanting, and mysterious world of theatre makers, artists and friends connected through collaboration and personal friendships with the Formans' Theatre invites both children and adults into an endless labyrinth of nooks, sceneries, and theatrical backdrops. Mechanical games, artistic objects, puppets, toys, inventions, painted stories, circus acrobats, and heroes of marionette and hand puppet theatre come to life through the playful interaction of visitors of all ages. Thanks to them, the Imaginarium becomes a living landscape celebrating human imagination, creativity, playfulness, and sensitivity to beauty.
Each exhibiting artist has their own unique artistic signature, yet they all contribute to a collective whole. Every artist stands independently, yet together they create a vast labyrinth of hidden corners, objects, inventions, toys, and many other artifacts—forming one world: a realm of boundless imagination, artistic mastery, joy, and playfulness.

For over ten years, the Imaginarium project has been a significant part of the Formans' Theatre activities. Individual installations have been presented in various locations across the Czech Republic and repeatedly in Germany, Italy, Denmark, and France—most recently on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Paris. As part of the Czech Season, the Imaginarium was exhibited in Dresden, attracting more than 90,000 visitors. In 2024, Dresden was followed by Kassel, where the Imaginarium filled the exhibition space of the Brothers Grimm Museum. As with every new venue, a unique and unrepeatable installation will be created at the East Bohemia Museum in Pardubice—a world of the Imaginarium inspiring through playfulness, originality, theatricality, and beauty.
